Are all of your services available for adults as well as kids?
Yes, for several years we have served both adults and children for both psychiatry and counseling help.
How do I become a new patient at 4KidHelp and Adults?
It is simple! Click this link and fill out the short form (it should take 3-5 minutes) and click Submit. We will review it to make sure we can help you. Generally we get back to you within 1 business day.
What is your approach to mental health treatment?
We work with the whole person – we pride ourselves on not just medicating a problem or teaching random coping skills. We start by listening … carefully. We then share what we heard including how this fits in with you as a whole person. We then share ideas about how we can help. We always have a conversation. You are the customer; we work for you.
When should I or my child see a mental health professional?
People usually go to a mental health professional when their problems are really big and they have tried everything else they know to try. We urge people to make an appointment when they see a problem is developing, and not just wait until it is severe. That way we can work with you to figure out what is causing the problem, and all of the ways that might help.
Do you offer medical as well as counseling and therapy services?
Yes, we pride ourselves on being an “integrated” practice for medical and counseling services. There is no one size fits all. Our providers listen to your concerns and share what is known to help with the cause of your problem(s), including non-medical and non-counseling ideas. We support multiple approaches to a person.
Do you offer telehealth services?
Yes. Though we started in March 2020 with the spread of COVID we had looked at telehealth as an option 15 years ago. At that time the state rules about using telehealth were so cumbersome it wasn’t practical. Now it is. As a team, we have shared what works best, so that we all are giving the best services. One advantage we provide is people can usually choose if they want to come in person, be seen by telehealth, or have a mixture.
Do you prescribe medications for mental health issues?
Yes. We do a careful analysis of the problem. If medication can help we will offer it. We share any type of help which has shown to work with that problem. We do not force medication, we offer it.
Do you work with children who have experienced physical or sexual assault?
A large number, though not all, of the people we work with have had trauma. We are very informed about how hardship effects people and how to work through those issues to achieve peace. We look at all issues that contribute to a person not feeling good, and work on finding problems for each of these issues including trauma if it is present.
What age groups do you serve at 4KidHelp and Adults?
We start seeing children at age 3 and can treat you at any age thereafter.
Can I follow 4KidHelp and Adults on social media?
You are welcome to check us out on our website and/or Facebook. However, we put our time and resources into helping the people we see not in marketing.
